J1 Summer Work and Travel FAQs

Q. What is the age limit?

A.  18-30 years of age



Q. What are the requirements?

A. You must be a full time tertiary student, doing either a diploma, degree, masters or associates' degree from an accredited institution



Q. How long do I work?

A. The program duration is Maximum 12 weeks. It starts in May and all students are to return by September 7th whether or not you are in your final year of study.



Q. Can I stay with relatives?

A. Jobs are usually pre-arranged with housing, you may not be able to get a job in the same area as your relative.



Q. Do I haver to go to embassy? I already have a visa.

A. The type of visa that allows for you to do the program is called a J1 Visa. This visa is done each time you go on the program, and is supported by the documents that will be handed to you by our team, after your processing is complete.

Internship/ Trainee Program FAQs

Q. What are the requirements for this program?

A.  You must currently be a full-time student at a tertiary institution or a recent graduate (No more than 12 months ago) holding a post-secondary academic degree from  an accredited tertiary institution



Q. What is the difference between J-1 visa trainee and intern?

A.  J1 INTERN: This visa is issued for no longer than 12 months and a 30 day grace period during which you can travel the U.S. but not work. J1 TRAINEE: This visa is issued for no longer than 18 months and a 30 day grace period during which you can travel within the U.S. but not train or work.



Q. What are the list of requirements for internship?

A.  Internship requirements vary, depending on the type of organisation and industry. But all interns need a well-written resume, transcripts, and letters of recommendation prepared with their application. Employers may have additional requirements, such as a specific major or writing samples.


Au Pair Program FAQs

Q. What are the requirements for this program?

A.  Age 18- 27

  • High School Diploma and above
  • Driver's License with at least 1 year of experience driving
  • Clean Police record
  • At least 200 hours of work experience in Childcare or Infant Care



Q. Can I choose where I go?

A.  For this programs you generally cannot choose where you go as you will do interviews with potential employers for a job match to be made and in that case a job match can be made in any area.



Q. Can I extend my program?

A.  The Au Pair Program can be extended for up to a year making the program length 2 years given that both you and your host family desire a program extension.
